A leading Abu Dhabi developer applied Carbaba to a G+11 residential tower at the detailed-design stage. Two typical floors were reviewed against compliance code, covering egress, accessibility, fire and smoke protection, interior dimensions, ventilation, setbacks, high-rise provisions, and plumbing.
Carbaba flagged a systemic accessible-door-width shortfall, bathroom doors measuring roughly 711mm clear against the 806mm Type B minimum (§1008.1.1 Exception 8). Because the same door specification repeats on every typical floor, the issue propagated building-wide, yet a single specification change resolves all of it. Caught before submission, it cost a hardware revision instead of a building-wide redesign and a rejection cycle.

No. Carbaba is a pre-submission QA/QC tool — an independent check before the set goes to the engineer of record or the municipality. It does not certify compliance and does not replace any licensed sign-off. Think of it as a structured internal review that catches issues before they become expensive external comments.
The registry references ADIBC, DCR setback regulations, Estidama provisions, alongside UAE Fire & Life Safety considerations and any other private compliance codes. It's versioned — as Abu Dhabi adopts newer editions, the registry updates and existing reports can be re-run against the new version.
Yes — Revit-exported DXF is the primary, validated input, the pilot ran entirely on Revit-exported files. AutoCAD native DXF is also supported. IFC drawings feed the Shop Drawing QA workflow.
They're classified as FLAGGED — not PASS, not FAIL. This means Carbaba can't make a determination from the documents provided. The system states its own verification boundary and lists what's needed for a complete check. This is by design: most of any building code can't be proven by a floor plan, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Municipal automated checking (where it exists) runs after submission. If it finds an issue, you get a comment that triggers a resubmission cycle — typically weeks. Carbaba runs before submission, during design, when changes are cheap. The same finding costs a drawing revision now, or a resubmission, redesign, consultant remobilisation, and programme delay later.
